SEPARATE SAND & MINERAL ORES FROM SLIT AND UNWANTED FINES
OPERATING DESCRIPTION
The screw classifier is an ideal machine to separate water and silt and other unwanted fines
from sand and mineral ores. It consists of a slow rotating and gently elevating spiral screw in a
specially designed tub having an inclined trough.
Feed to the classifier, consisting of solids and water mixture, comes from washing screen. Silt
and unwanted micro-fines get floated and discharged over weirs. The coarser particles settle
at tub bottom. The screw continuously rakes up the clean settled coarser particles. As the
material is raked up the inclined trough, excess water is drained back into the tub. The
dewatered product is discharged at the upper end of the trough on to a conveyor belt that takes
it to a storage.
The hydraulic classification barrier between micro-fines and coarser solids can be set to a
required mesh, which can be accomplished to a high degree of efficiency by varying the
overflow velocity over adjustable weirs and turbulence by spiral shaft speed.
NAWASPIRALS come in a wide range of sizes to cover varied classification requirements and
specifications, and raking capacities upto 300 TPH, for application in sand preparation and
mineral beneficiation plants.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
, Fabricated and reinforced tank construction with heavy gauge steel
, Adjustable weirs for classification control
, Heavy duty and large diameter seamless tubular shaft designed for minimum deflection
, Submerged bearing assembly fitted with heavy duty dual roller bearings in a special
housing provided with multi layer labyrinth and oil seal protection against ingress of foreign
material
, Front end spherical & roller bearing combination assembly in a special housing provided
with oil seals against dust ingression
