Unit overview
Students will recognise the viewpoints of men, women and Aboriginal people about wars in
Australia's history. They will respond to the emotions generated by excursions and visual/digital
imagery. Students will describe the environment of the different countries where war has taken
place and consider the impact of these environments on the men at war.

Content
Week 4:
Students complete KWL worksheet
Discuss what students know about ANZACS
Students view video/images of ANZACS and in pairs write
down words which describe the ANZACS and words they may
not understand. Show video/images 2 times
Share findings
Role play what these words may depict
Read simple imaginative stories to assist in comprehension of
courage/mateship/honour/respect/sacrifice
Make a word wall with vocabulary depicting the
ANZACS relating images
