including a single comb member, and further that this effect is much less
pronounced in apparatuses employing two comb members, reciprocating
parallely along their longitudinal axes, because such parallely reciprocating
comb members are more distant from one another at all times. as compared to
5

the comb members according to the present invention.

According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided a
method of grooming and/or styling hair which method preferably utilizes
apparatus 10 described hereinabove.
The method is effected by combing the hair to be groomed and/or styled

JO

with the comb member of apparatus 10, while at the same time operating the
hair drying mechanism to thereby heat the hair combed so as to effect grooming
and/or styling thereof.
The method of the present invention is most effective on wet or damp
hair. since as mentioned hereinabove. dry hair can be styled without employing

15

the hair drying mechanism.

Since wet hair tends to group or "stick" together a combing action is not
sufficient in untangling or ungrouping hair and as such simultaneous drying
which is enabled by the apparatus of the present invention greatly facilitates
hair separation and as greatly increase hair body or volume.

The majority of the materials of comb members 18 and teeth 20 are to

be of relatively high thermal conductivity typically a metal or metal alloy. Tips
of comb teeth 20 could be optionally made of a material of relatively low heat
conductivity to avoid contact of excessive heat to scalp causing discomfort.
