10(g): The teacher uses technological tools and a variety of communication strategies to build local and
global learning communities that engage learners, families, and colleagues.

In the course Instructional Media I had

the opportunity to build a classroom website. I
created useful webpages that promote literacy in
the mathematics classrooms. These webpages
were specifically geared towards colleagues, families and learners. Descriptions of the literacy
strategies and tools are provided on the pages
which provide explanations of their possibilities
and usefulness in constructing knowledge in a
rich way. I also provide examples of student
work that shows the strategy in action. in action.
My website also provides resources to
other websites provide support and videos which
help and families to learn mathematical skills in
a variety of ways. The websites are listed with a
description that explains who would benefit the
most from the resource such as, This is a great
resource for families to support their mathematics learner! or This is for you, Algebra students!.
These
resources
help

REFLECTION:
As a future educator, I value the skill of creating a website and understand the use of this technology inside and
outside the classroom. I look forward to creating and updating my website around the content I will be teaching in the future. I also plan to create classroom blogs and homework questions/answers forums in order to create a local and eventually a global learning community.
