Numerator
We read the numerator as a
cardinal number.
1: one
2: two
3: three
...

Denominator

We read the
denominator as an
ordinal number.
3: Third
5: Fifth
7: Seventh

Exceptions:
* 1 reads as whole
* 2 reads as half or
halves
* 4 reads as
quarter or
quarters

When the numerator is 1, we

read the denominator as a
singular.

When the numerator is more

than 1, we read the
denominator as a plural.
