FATALCHARLESCOUNTYFIREINVESTIGATED

Pomfret, Maryland (March 21, 2015) AteamofDeputyStateFireMarshalsareinvestigating

a fire which claimed the lifeof an adultmale victim.The fire at5350 HarleyPlacewas reportedjust
after 2 PM today. Firefighters arrived on sceneanddiscovered amalevictim inthe bedroom ofthe
home.

Thehomeis describedas a onestorysinglefamilyhome.Investigationshavedeterminedthat

the fire originated in the master bedroom of the home. Family members reported hearing smoke
alarms sounding after discoveryofthefire.Nearlyfiftyfirefighterscontrolledthefireintwentyminutes
timefromnumerousareadepartments.

The victim will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to
determine the identification and causeof death.TheCharlesCountySheriffsDepartmentisassisting
in theinvestigation. Theinvestigationinto thecause ofthefire remains ongoing at this time.Further
details of the victim, including confirmation of identification, and fire cause will be released as
additionalinformationisdeveloped.
