ZBOP Board Meeting Minutes

March 9, 2015
6:30 PM
ZCHS Main Cafeteria
Meeting called to order at 6:43 pm by Bryan Brochin.
Present: Bryan Brochin, Kerry Dienhart, Rick Domogalik, Erika Revercomb, Becca King,
Jody Campbell, Rodney Miller and Mary Jean Vorwald.
Old Business
Kerry made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting and Jody seconded.
All other members gave their approval and the minutes were approved.
Treasurer Report Kerry Dienhart
Kerry had to refile 2013; filed as a fiscal year and should be calendar year
Last 2 fundraiser; ZBOP presents brought in $3,246.29 and the Winter Guard
Competition brought in $15,494.00.
Amazon Smiles sent us a check for $94.
The discussion turned to our fundraisers for next year. Rick would like for us to do
three big fundraisers. The Winter Guard Competion, an Indoor Percussion
Competition and a Marching Band show. Action Item: Becca to check with Rachel
Shafer for available dates for the WG show and the IP show.
Close on hitting budget and doing ok.
Mary Jean told us that the Endowment might be able to give ZBOP $4,000 or
$5,000.
Band Updates Tom Landrum
Winter Guard is seeded 3rd in the state for finals in 2 weeks. They travel to
Cincinnati this Saturday for a WGI Super regional.
Indoor percussion also doing well and in the top 5 in the state.
Jazz Band earned a gold rating last Friday.
Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble travel to Purdue to work side by side with
Purdue Symphonic Band on Thursday, April 16. Then we host them on Tuesday,
April 28th for a concert here along with our 3 concert bands. We need to provide
dinner for Purdue that night.
Orchestra Updates Dave Schurger was not in attendance. Erika reported that Honors Orchestra
received a Gold rating at State ISSMA competition.
Fundraising Report
Car Wash coupons are not be pick up by the students like we had hoped. Several
suggestions were made to increase sales. ZBOP decided to purchase 100 tickets to
cover the cost of printing.
Schwans Update seems to be doing as well as Market Day make sure we have
info for this for registration night.
ZBOP presents Do we do this again? Masterworks6 was not the big name we
needed. Erika proposes that we think about doing this every other year. Work on

trying to get a bigger name. Bryan suggested we table the discussion for now and
discuss at the next meeting.
Trivia Night - many suggestions on how to make this a successful event for ZBOP;
this was also tabled for the next meeting.
PAC concessions people signing up to help is still not going well.
Scrip program still doing well
March a thon combine with ZFit (Michelle Teague). The March A Thon will be held
the Saturday between the two weeks of Band Camp.

New Business
Orchestra Equipment Request Bryan suggested waiting to discuss this when Dave
and Chris would be in attendance.
May Registration Night Erika suggested moving this to a different date and
location. Erika will try and get the small auditorium for us in early May.
Music Department Admin tabled for next meeting so Tom and Dave can weigh in
on this item.

Minute discussions
The Endowment will be hosting an event on September 19th Second City.
Senior Awards are on May 19th
Will Roger Oberweiser still be doing the program for us next year?
Rodney to email out to parents about R. Goodman Jewelers doing class rings at
40% off he will design something for Band, Guard, Orchestra at no extra charge.
Ask him to attend our Registration Night as well.

Next Meeting
Sunday, April 12th at the McGuffy Room at the ESC. This will be our regular
meeting and our budget meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:43.
