    The Juneau Ski Club is holding a youth ski race called the Hooter's Run Giant Slalom on January 30, 2010. The schedule includes a 9:30 meeting for Mitey Mites, a 9:45 course inspection, a 10:00 meeting for volunteers, a 10:30 first run start with the second run immediately following, and a 11:15 course tear down. Awards will be given at 12:30 based on combined times from both runs within each age group. Volunteers are still needed and additional information will be provided to Mitey Mite families.

    Youth Ski League Race Announcement

    Hooter’s Run Giant Slalom


    January 30, 2010

    This race is for all athletes in the Juneau Ski Club Mitey Mite, DEVO Team
    and Junior J4 Programs and the schedule of events is as follows:

    09:30 Mitey Mites meet coaches at the bottom of the


    Hooter lift. Coaches will have race bibs for all
    athletes.

    09:45 Course Inspection with coaches on Sourdough


    Run

    10:00 Race volunteers meet for job assignments. Those


    on skis, please meet at the race start. Those on
    foot, please meet at the race finish.

    10:30 First Run Race Start


    The Second Run will commence as soon as racers
    return to the Start.

    11:15 Course Tear Down

    12:30 Awards on the deck of the Eaglecrest Base Lodge


    Additional Race Notes

    • The Start order for the racers will be determined by a random draw
    within each Mitey Mite, DEVO and J4 group. Mitey Mites will race
    first and DEVO/J4’s will run last.

    • Awards will be determined within each group by the combined time


    from both race runs.

    • Please contact me if you can help with the race….and remember, you
    don’t have to be a skier to help! A list of open volunteer positions
    was sent with this announcement

    • Additional race information will be provided to the Mitey Mite


    families in the weekly update.
