UTP 387

Regulation:

Basic copper-nickel 70/30 electrode

Material n : 2.0837
DIN 1733 : EL-CuNi30Mn
AWS A5.6 : E CuNi
Application Field

UTP 387 basic Copper-Nickel electrode is indicated for joint and coating of Nickel alloys
and of similar composition alloys with nickel content up to 30%, as well as non-ferrous metal
alloys and of different compositions steels.
The sea water resistance of the weld metal allows the use of this special electrode in
shipbuilding, oil refineries, food industry and in works where corrosion resistance is required,
vessels and, as a rule, in equipment.
Welding characteristics and special properties of the weld metal

UTP 387 can be welded in all positions except the vertical down one. Seawater resistant.

Welding Instructions
Prepare a "V" chamfer with a minimum of 70 and pr ovide a root opening of 2 mm. Remove the oxidized
layer, approximately 10 mm on each side of the joint, as well as opposite to the welding. The area to be
welded must be degreased and properly degreased.
Light the arc retreating the electrode a little in order to obtain a good welding joint with the metal. Keep
the arc short.
