Dear Mrs. Robertson:
Every spring students from the Fashion Design and Technology program at Saint-Laurent College
look forward to participating in their annual fashion show. The event gives graduating students
an opportunity to showcase their work and give back to the community. Last year the students
raised close to $10,000 for Fashion Helps, a charity which provides support services to families of
the terminally ill. The hard work of the students, combined with the support of the community
and the participation of fashion industry professionals, have made this event a success year after
year. This years event is already getting a lot of buzz as we have secured some well-known
fashion editors, designers, and stylists to judge the competition. Also, our title sponsor,
Anthropologie, will have a few representatives present at the show.
This years event is being held at the Desjardins Center on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 7 p.m. to
11:00 p.m. The event will open with a cocktail reception where, throughout the venue, models
will be wearing designs created by the 3rd year students. Immediately following the cocktail
reception, the fashion show will begin. The evening will wrap up with a surprise guest
performance followed by the announcement of the winner. Afterwards, there will be a reception
with hor oeuvres where everyone will have an opportunity to network.
We would be honoured if you would be one of our judges at this years event. Not only would it
give you the chance to gain exposure, it would be a wonderful opportunity to network and help
out a worthy cause. We would also like to feature your newest line of footwear in the show. We
think your unique designs would be a perfect fit with the students haute couture designs. Please
