Experience
In service training has included the areas of; Inclusion, Child Protection, Behaviour
Management, Curriculum Development, The use of data for School Improvement, Specialist
School Re-designation, and Timetabling for the DT, Art and Music faculty. I have then had
opportunity to ensure these have had real impact in securing school improvement.
Led the faculty in the use of data for self evaluation. This has included informing and
challenging staff about underachievement and convincing them both of the necessity for major
change and of a strategy that would bring success.
Used progress data to develop a new curriculum structure at KS4, that matches student
need.
Demonstrating improved A*- C exam measure from 32-61%. Resistant Materials achieved
81% which was the best improved result in the school and a record for the faculty.
Successfully managed the faculty budget (8000).
Responsible for staff welfare and discipline.
Fully participated in all the day to day aspects of being a member of the middle leadership
team, including; line & performance management of faculty, mentoring and coaching of
faculty (including NQTs, Teach Firsts and Unqualified members of staff), evaluation of
standards and teaching and learning (including lesson observations), contribution to the
structure of the leadership within the faculty, presentations to staff, students and parents on
a full range of issues including major change (curricular change), assemblies, inset and
exhibitions.
Created strategic development plans for the year ahead including deadlines linked to staff
for the major areas directly linked to the faculty.
Responsible for a Form group, including external development programmes (PGL),
parental contact and meetings, monitoring attendance and behaviour.

I have created the Curriculum for Design Technology following the US Diploma standards
across Grade 7-12 along with planning a parallel IBDT course for Grade 11-12
Successfully set up a fully working workshop where machines were not in use. The
machines include: Industrial Oven, Roland MDX-40, Brazing Hearth, Casting Forge as well
as introducing the laser cutter to all classes.
Worked collaboratively with members of RASGAS to introduce a Health and Safety
qualification: The British Safety Council Entry Level award.
Successfully managed the Design Technology budget for the past two years including
machine maintenance.
Selected alongside an elite group of Administrators, Teachers, Counselors to work on the
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) team to help improve the whole school in
relation to positive interaction with the students. This will provide support and guidance for
teachers with the goal to improve student behavior, academic achievements and to really
instill leadership qualities in the cadets we are working with.
