Competition Commission of Pakistan


Competition Commission of Pakistan is a government agency which can also be called an
economic regulator as it enforces the competition laws and consumer protection laws. It is
mandated under the competition act, 2010. And it was established on October 2, 2007 under the
competition ordinance, 2007. It also regulates many aspects of mergers and acquisitions and
business alliances. The main role of this is that it does not allow companies to make cartels and
monopolies.
Ms. Khalil is chairperson of competition Commission of Pakistan in 2014. She had past
experience in Commissions Member for Mergers and Acquisitions and Advocacy.
