My Edmodo Classroom
I am extremely enjoying the collaboration and communication with my students.
Was a little hesitant at first to try this modified social media site, but it has turned
out to be a blessing. Here are some images that show assignment postings and also
student work submissions.

BEGINNINGS OF EPORTFOLIO

Who Am I
My name is Jennifer Henao, mother of two, teacher, aspiring educational

administrator, and a dreamer of learning more about technology. I have had the Click district name
to learn more about
great pleasure of teaching students in southern California for 7 years. I currently SBCUSD
teach high school Spanish in San Bernardino City Unified School District. My

passion in teaching began with the inspiration of my elementary school teacher

Mrs. Miller. I will never forget it, she was so compassionate and caring. I am an

English learner and I felt very discriminated against as a child.

When I moved from Los Angeles to the Inland Empire there were very few Latino
families and the schools had absolutely no help. From that moment on I knew that I
wanted to make a difference helping other children get through our educational
system, and assure they did not have to go through the stress I went through.

leadership
My goal for this course is to expand upon the knowledge learned in my
technology emphasis course in the Masters of Ed Leadership course. At the end of

BEGINNINGS OF EPORTFOLIO
this program I felt with the need to learn more about technology. I want to be able
to share all the wonderful things about technology with my students and co-
workers.
Technically, I feel like I have so much still to learn. I do not consider myself
an expert, but a willing learner. Now, I just wait to see were this new journey takes
me!

Ahhs for EDTC 511

1. Adobe Reader Pro- Awesome program to convert material that is difficult to

read on different types of computers. Learning this program has made my
online student postings so much easier. Because PDFs are able to viewed on
almost every type of mobile device, it has made educational programs like
Edmodo and Google sites more accessible.
2. Edmodo- many of my colleagues had mentioned edmodo but I was not sure if
I was going to be comfortable using it in my own classroom. Because it
mimics the social media format of Facebook, I was a little uncomfortable at
first. But after learning the managing systems it had to offer/ and of course
setting up the adequate expectations, I have enjoyed using this program for
quizzes, polls and I absolutely LOVE the calendar feature. Students can log
into their account and download important assignments.
3. Cadre mate 23 collaboration- ahh moments I have had in the program so far
is the wonderful collaboration I have had with the other students. This
experience is so different from what I am used to. I was a little doubtful, but
after chatting online frequently with other cadre mates, I feel comfortable
meeting out of the traditional classroom.
