HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS
Our team will be staying in either the church itself or with host families.
When we travel to the jungle we will be staying in tents.
We would like to give the host families some money for allowing us to stay
with them. As soon as I find out how much that will be I will let you know the
cost.

FOOD ARRANGEMENTS
The host families will be providing us with meals, so we should not have to
worry too much about food.
The church has also mentioned that it might be wise to pack snack food (i.e.
Pringles, fruit rollups etc) to munch on in case you get homesick or we are
fed cow intestine.
While I do not think we will need it, it is always wise to bring a little extra
money if we are out in Quito and you get hungry or see something crazy you
want to try.

As mentioned before it would be great if some extra money is brought to help

subsidize the cost for the host families.

DRESS CODE
All right ladies, I am sure you all remember the hilarious conversation we had
with Pastor Paul about how to dress. It would be awesome if we could leave
Ecuador with minimal marriage proposals and potential boyfriends. While this
situation is not completely avoidable, it can be helped by dressing modestly. As a
rule please follow the Grace Prep dress code, and if you have any doubts about
your shorts being too short then do not pack them. I am also going to ask that
you dont bring yoga pants, and if you do, you may only wear them to sleep in. If
they are worn outside of sleeping I will ask you to take them off. This will just help
avoid any unnecessary problems. Please do not bring any super tight shirts
either. Remember we want to be comfortable with room for air circulation so we
dont pass out in the heat! Also please remember that we are representing
Grace Prep, the USA, and more importantly God. We might be the only exposure
some of these people have to God. Please remain humble, and if Meagan or I
approach you about something you are wearing, please do not take it personally,
we just want to represent God the best way we can.

PACKING NEEDS
Quito is located in the Andes Mountain Range, with an elevation of 10,000 feet. We will be
visiting during the summer time it will be very cool because of the altitude. The temperature
will be highs 60s and lows in the 40s. We will also be traveling to the jungle, and will be
there for three days. Because it is the summer and the rainy season, and it will be hot and
very humid. The temperature will be in the 80s.
Packing list:
1. PASSPORT
2. SMARTWOOL SOCKS are highly recommended as they wick the moisture from
your feet, which will get very wet in the jungle. Socks can be purchased locally at
Dicks Sporting Goods.
3. Shorts for 10 days.
4. T-Shirts for 10 days.
5. 1 outfit for church (business casual)
6. Insect Repellant. Lots of it.
7. Ointment for bug bites

8. Sunscreen
9. Comfortable hiking/walking shoes, sandals. We will be hiking through mud, so
please bring appropriate foot attire.
10. Toiletries: Shampoo, toothbrush, deodorant, etc. Please do not be disturbed if you
have to go a couple of days without a shower this is most likely to occur while we
venture into the jungle
11. A 2 or 3 person tent if you have one.
12. Some extra cash for fun things! Ecuador uses the US dollar.
