Studio Awards

Spring 2015
Studio Awards will occur during each Spring Recital. The purpose of these
awards is to reward hard work and dedication. Each student has an opportunity
to earn an award. The Technique Awards and Memorization Awards can be
earned by any student who chooses to work to achieve them. The Most Improved
and Honor Student Awards will be awarded at my discretion.
Technique Awards
1 One Octave Award (Small Trophy)
This is awarded when the student has passed off all one octave scales and
arpeggios in both major and minor at 60 beats per minute with the eighth note
rhythm.
2 Two Octave Award (Medium Trophy)
This is awarded when the student has passed off all two octave scales and
arpeggios in both major and minor at 60 beats per minute with the eighth note
rhythm.
3 Three Octave Award (Large Trophy)
This is awarded when the student has passed off all three octave scales
and arpeggios in both major and minor at 60 beats per minute with the eighth
note rhythm.
Memorization Performance Award
1 First Memorization Award (Trophy)
This is awarded when the student plays a piece memorized at a studio
recital.
2 Consecutive Memorization Award (Symphony Bar)
This is awarded for every piece performed memorized at a studio recital
after already receiving a First Memorization Award.

Most Improved Award


This award is given to three students (one per age level) each Spring
Recital. This award is for students whose dedication and hard work has lead to
rapid growth and progression in their study of music.
1 Most Improved in Elementary Age Level (up to 6 th grade)
2 Most Improved in Junior High Level (up to 9th grade)
3 Most Improved in High School Level (up to 12 th grade)

Honor Student Award


This award is given to three students (one per age level) each Spring
Recital. This award is for those students who consistently come prepared to
lessons, display dedication in multiple facets of their private lesson study, exceed
expectations, and are always ready to learn.
1 Honor Student in Elementary Age Level (up to 6 th grade)
2 Most Improved in Junior High Level (up to 9th grade)
3 Most Improved in High School Level (up to 12 th grade)
