Isaiah 50:4b
The Lord has given me
the tongue of those who are taught,
that I may know how to sustain with a word
him that is weary.
Morning by morning he awakens,
he awakens my ear
to hear as those who are taught.

In Stephen Ministry we are taught to listen. We are taught to use words to sustain and support
our care receivers. We are taught to walk beside our fellow man. More importantly, we are
taught to listen for and be responsive to God.
We are the care givers; God is the cure giver. He will judge the world. Our job as Christians is
to receive the Word and reveal it to others in our lives and actions. We need to listen well and
respond to God's nudges.
LISTEN for the Lord.
Nurturing God,
Clear those things that block our hearts and minds from hearing you. Whisper to us your word
and will. Give us the skills to reveal them to others.
