MEET THE TEACHER

Hello!
My name is Mr. Michael Taylor, and I am so incredibly excited to be part of the 4th
grade team! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! This is my first year in
the Belton Independent School District, and I know this is going to be a fun learning
adventure. I cannot wait to what is in store for all of us! I am looking forward to getting
to know ALL of you, but I would like to tell you a little about me first!
Like you, I was born at a very young age. I spent most of my childhood days between
the piney woods of northeast Louisiana and the breezy gulf coast of Texas. After
graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Army and served in various
locations around the globe. Later, I attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and
received my Bachelors degree in History. I had the privilege of completing my teaching
certification through ACT Central Texas and my student teaching at Miller Heights
Elementary.
I am married to my beautiful bride, Rhonda, who is from Austin. We were married in
June 1992, and we have two amazing children. Our daughters name is Megan. She is a
junior; she is in the Top 5 percent of her class, a board member on the Youth Advisory
Council (YAC) for the Belton City Council, plus an officer and a member of show choirs at
Belton High School. Our son Zachary is a freshman. He plays baseball, basketball, and is
a member of YAC.
I look forward to teaching you many new things and making this experience as fun
and enjoyable as possible! We are going to be doing lots of work, but having lots of fun
