DC37 Endorses David Weprin
District Council 37 announced its endorsement of former City Councilman David Weprin for
NYS Assembly in Special Election that takes place Tuesday, February 9, 2010. The
endorsement followed a vote (Tuesday, January 26, 2010) of the DC37 delegates assembly,
according to Executive Director Lillian Roberts.
“District Council 37 proudly endorses David Weprin for State Assembly from the 24th District.,”
stated Lillian Robert. “David consistently puts the needs of working people and their families
first. As City Council Finance Committee chair, David always been a fighter for the working
people of New York and he will be a true asset to our public employees in the Assembly.”
David Weprin stated, “I am honored to accept the endorsement of this proud union whose
members care for our sick, our children, our elderly, who maintain bridges, parks, roads and
subways. The dedicated public servants staff help make our city function, including its hospitals,
schools, libraries, social service centers and city colleges. As Chair of the City Council's Finance
Committee I focused on protecting the interests of working and middle class New Yorkers. As a
Member of the Assembly, I'll maintain that focus.
