The children will listen and interact to the story, Trick or Treat by Melanie Walsh
The children will follow directions to the recipe and we will make pumpkin moon
sand.

Children may not want participate in the activity because they dont like the texture
of it. Children will be given the choice to participate in the activity or sit and watch
the other children.

We will sit on the carpet for circle time to read the story the children will be able to
respond to the pictures in the book. After the story the children will be invited to the
table one at a time where we will have the imprudence and materials to make the
pumpkin moon sand. Children will help add imprudence to plastic tub. We will add
sand corn starch, water, pumpkin pie spice, and color. Teacher will have utensils for

Closure/Transitions: As the children finish they can use wet wipes to wash their
hands and then clean off the area where they were playing. Teacher will leave the
pumpkin moon sand in the center for the children to play with another day.

The assistant teacher observe and document through the use of anecdotal notes the
abilities of the children to listen to the story, discuss their observations and apply
their knowledge of the pumpkin moon sand.
