A Guide to Mindful Living

As stated by Rick Wormeli in his article, Perseverance and Grit (2014)

when students have a positive connection with his/her students they are
more willing to work when projects and schoolwork get difficult. The
relationships teachers have with students help students to work harder.
For the next week, consider how you are connecting with your
students. Are you focused on the curriculum all the time? There will always
be a to-do list. Be mindful of how you are prioritizing your list versus the
time you spend connecting with your students.
Possible Questions to Consider:
How do you relate to students during homeroom?
Do you have any down time with students?
Are you positive with students when you are giving directions and/or
teaching?
How do your students respond to you and how do you respond to
students during down time?
How do you relate to students when you give directions or teach?
How do you engage with students during indoor or outdoor recess?
