Research Method: Structured Interviews

Research Topic: Study Habits
Total Nomber of Respondents: 81 students, from Sec 1 up to JC 1
Questions:
1. Is your class comfortable to study?
2. Are your friends helpful in your study?
3. During which subject is your class the noisiest?
4. What is your favorite subject?
5. What is your weakest subject?
Aim of this Research:
To find out if students are aware of the environment of their studies
(Questions 1,2,3), and if they are aware of their progresses in learning
(Questions 4,5). It is also possible to find connections between these two
ideas (For example, when the environment in which a student is learning
affects their behavior and views of a particular subject).
Hypothesis:
Most students will be able to give their opinions about their study habits,
and also their strengths and weaknesses on various subjects.

Conclusion:
Almost all students were able to describe their daily learning styles in
school and their subject preferences, although some may be unsure of it.
Most students find their class comfortable (Question 1) and their friends
helpful during lessons (Question 2). Math may be the noisiest class for many
students (Question 3), but it does not affect their points of view towards their
subject, as many students also state math as their favorite subject (Question
4). Languages such as Chinese or English is a challenge to most lower
secondary students, but sciences such as physics or chemistry provides
doubts for upper secondary and JC students (Question 5).
