employment. I have been a consummate educator for 30+ years serving as both a
teacher and administrator in a large urban district. My current position of Field
Instructor at Michigan State University afforded me the opportunity to sit in the cat
birds seat for perspective employers and observe and evaluate her 11 times during
the school year with and without her mentor teacher. I was able to see Ms. Firman
work directly in her selected discipline of Social Studies within several 10th grade U.S
History classes; and witness first hand her remarkable achievement while working
with her students.

Ms. Firman has developed into a phenomenal instructor she is comfortable and
maintains a great sense of humor while working with her students. She completed her
Student Teacher Internship working with a wide range of students with varied abilities
and socio-economic backgrounds. Taylor has an abundance of patience and a large
cadre of techniques, which enables her to impart the subject matter effectively. As she
uses differentiated instructions to reach the reluctant learner as well as the
exceptional students, she has learned to maintain a classroom in which her
expectations are met academically as well as behaviorally. Additionally, Taylor
develops lessons that are not only socially relevant but packed with those outside
resources that enable her lessons to be unique and full of energy.
Outside the classroom Taylor was able to become a valued member of faculty. She
infused herself within the school climate by attending extra curricular activities,
enabling her to further develop a strong rapport with her students as well as staff. Ms.
Taylor Firman would be and exceptional asset to any school environment and setting
she chooses to become a part. It is therefore, with great pleasure, that I highly
recommend Taylor Firman who is in this writers opinion ready to face any challenges
