Claire,
Can I please get the number of Town Hall Parking Permits (free passes for town
employees or elected or appointed town officials) that are currently in use?
Can I also get a top-ten list of people with outstanding parking tickets and/or fines
currently due the town.
Thanks,
Larry

Good morning:
There are fourteen (14) Town Hall parking permits issued/in use.
In response to your public record request for the top 10 highest dollar value
offenders in unpaid parking tickets, we have prepared an estimate of time and
expense as follows:
Extract unpaid from central database: 1 hour
Sort and sum in spreadsheet: 1 hour
Report and cover note: 0.5 hours
$0.50 per page: n/a electronic
Total 2.5 hours

Debra A. Puppel, Assistant to the Town Manager

Hey Debra,
A little surprised in this day and age it would take that long to extract the
information, but I'll take your word for it.
I'll drop a check off before noon. I think the 10 days is up tomorrow, so I would
appreciate it if you stick to that time schedule rather than restarting the ten day
clock from noon today.

Above are the subtotals by plate, for the highest 10 balances in our database
of unpaid parking tickets. The data span is FY10 through FY15 year-to-date,
or 7/1/2009 through 4/1/15.

So if one of these vehicles shows up today in town center I'm assuming you can
boot them on sight, even if they are legally parked with time left on the meter.
Yes, we could. Our boot practice however is to stick to out of state plates, with
extremely rare exceptions.
But what if the owner (and apparently you know all their names) buys another car
with a different plate.
Owners cannot renew when they are on record with the RMV. Both license
and registration get marked for non-renew status, so pulling a new plate
should not succeed in dodging the balances on the old.
Can you boot that in order to get them to pay off the balance owed on one of
these back due bills?
To clarify, could we boot a paid in full plate if registered to the same person that
has another plate with past due balances? I would have to deal with this on a
case by case basis.
