not sensitive to frost

Application properties

3+

excellent iron and copper binding capacity (2150 mg Fe /g product at a pH of 11)

reduces danger of catalyst damage on cotton during hydrogen peroxide bleaching
highly concentrated
binding of adverse iron ions in the process water
applicable in washing, bleaching and scouring processes
readily biodegradable

Application fields
OPTAVON FE conc should be applied in textile treatment baths whenever a high iron content
may have a negative influence on the bleaching result. The iron ions which can originate from the
textile goods as well as from the water are rendered inactive by OPTAVON FE conc.
OPTAVON FE conc is resistant to hydrolysis and is predominantly used in scouring and
bleaching operations.

Guidelines for application
OPTAVON FE conc is sprinkled into warm water and dissolved by stirring. Stock solutions of
10 to 30% concentration can be made. These solutions are clear and stable for a couple of weeks.
The iron binding capacity is 2150 mg Fe

3+

/g product (at pH 11, boiling method).

For alkaline scouring and bleaching processes we recommend to apply

0.5 - 1.5 g/l OPTAVON FE conc.

depending on the level of heavy metal contamination.
