DESCRIPTION:

Supplier Development Engineer


KEY TASKS:
Work in close co-operation with suppliers and internal stakeholders to assure quality
of sourced components and parts within assigned categories and suppliers;
Assure fulfilment of quality assurance deliverables in new product development and
transfers;
Contribute to the supplier category strategy and ensure that the preferred suppliers
fulfil set requirements;
Initiate and steer supplier quality improvements;
Continuously contribute in cross functional teams to improve Quality, Delivery and
Cost through the application of continuous improvements and lean philosophy;
Key relationships are with colleagues (local & remote) in Sourcing, Supplier
Development, Materials/Logistics, Production Engineering, Production, and
R&D/CDI/Warranty.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
5-10 years experience in supplier quality assurance and/or manufacturing/process
engineering in a component manufacturing company with a strong focus on quality;
Proven knowledge and ability to apply lean philosophy to improve process and
systems to improve quality, reduce cost and increase profitability and customer
value;
Experience of quality assurance with suppliers APQP/PPAP or similar;
Experience of root cause analysis and problem solving methodology such as Six
Sigma or similar;
High level and experience of communication with diverse cultures and nationalities;
Ability to work in a team based, high paced and multi-task environment with excellent
interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills;
Fluent in English with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written skills;
Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, have a strong desire to excel;
Demonstrates organizational skills, very detail oriented, with project management
skills;
This position requires frequent travel.
Working together with: Internally - Sourcing. MAU Management team; Quality and
Production personnel. R&D. Cross functional with other departments when necessary.
