After Lenin died, Joseph Stalin came to
power in a troika, or a committee of
three members.

By 1929, Stalin had killed off the other

two leaders.

Nazi Germany Invades Russia

(1941)

Although Hitler was not successful, the invasion

took a large toll on Russia. An estimated 27
million died during the attack.
