Kamal finds out how plastic, aluminium cans and glass are recycled.

All plastic bottles are sent to treatment plants where they are sorted, separated and
cleaned.
Then, they are turned into flakes and dried.
Finally, these flakes are sent to plastic making factories.
Recycled plastic is used to make products such as carrier bags, bin liners, raincoats
and compost bins.
Aluminium cans are washed and cleaned at the treatment plants.
They are melted into liquid aluminium to remove the ink.
Then the liquid aluminium is made into blocks called ingots.
These ingots are sent to mills where they are pressed into thin sheets.
We can make new products such as cans and chocolate wrappings.
Glass bottles are taken to a glass treatment plant.
The glass is sorted according to its colour and washed.
Then, it is crushed and washed.
Finally, it is moulded into new products like bottles and jars.
