Students Teaching Weekly Log

Molly McClelland
Week: 4/6 4/10
1. How did you spend your time this week? What
responsibilities did you have?
This week I am starting to phase out by handing over the
responsibilities of each class back to my mentor teacher. I still have
the freedom to help and interact throughout all of the classes. My
duties within the core classes included note taking, helping students
during work time, reading tests, and assisting in class discussion.
2. What were your most satisfying experiences? What were
your most challenging experiences?
The most satisfying experience dealt with being ability to help
and contribute in the classroom at a very comfortable level. Now that I
have been in the classes for multiple weeks, I am able to understand
the material and know individual students.
Once again one of the most challenging parts of this week dealt
with students struggling with buy in and motivation to get their work
done. Multiple conversations were had this week regarding the
importance of the 4th quarter and how expectations at Valley will be
high. But, overall, it was a decent week.
3. What are the plans for the upcoming week?
Next week, I will assist my mentor teacher however she needs.
Plus, I will continue to work with the core teachers to help them and
their students.
