Production Information
The Lion King first premiered on November
13th, 1997. The first production was by the
Broadway company, and the musical was first
performed in the New Amsterdam theatre in
New York.

Composer and Lyricist


The Composer for both The Lion King movie
and the play is Elton John. The Lyricist is Tim
Rice, also from both the movie and play.

Synopsis
In The Lion King Simba is the child of the current
Lion King, Mufasa. Scar (The brother of Mufasa)
tries to gain the crown by having Simba and
Mufasa killed in a stampede. Mufasa died
protecting Simba, who managed to escape into
the desert and jungle from Scars Hyenas. The
scene we are doing is when Pumba and Timon
help Simba recover and take him in as their own.
