Objective: Students will start to identify that the weather is changing to cooler months. Students
will start harvesting summer fruits and vegetables and start planting their winter garden.

Topic: Cooler Month

* Books about planting will be available.

-Eating the Alphabet
-Planting Seeds

Language Arts / Writing:

* Students will write the name of fruits and
vegetables they are planting.
* Students will match handwritten name to
picture of fruits and vegetables

Music / Art:
* Students will make a seed book using seeds
and pictures.

Vocabulary: (words/phrases)
* Hot (s:thoa)
* Cold (se:pith)

Math / Science:
* Harvest summer fruits and vegetables
* Plant winter fruits and vegetables

Parents / Classroom Guest: Invite guest to read books to students, talk about planting, and talk to
students in Ootham.

Field Trips:
* Outdoor field trip to local farm.
