Subject: Senate Bill 2150

Good morning!
The House Judiciary Committee, after the hearing, proposed significant amendments, which the House subsequently
approved. The House will likely approve the amended bill this week.
We are asking the Senate Judiciary Committee to not concur, but to consider the attached proposed amendments that
would:
1. Clarify that students have the right to appeal and the right to a rehearing within one year on new evidence.
2. Not allow an attorney to cross-examine witnesses. Chris Wilson, in the attached email, explains the rationale for
this amendment.
3. The State Board of Higher Education adopts policies, so I'm proposing the minor amendments in section 2 of the
bill.
