CAMPAIGN
STATUS
AT-A-GLANCE
As of March 17, 2015

ur building campaign and construction project

are progressing at breakneck speed. Since
October, more than 30 brothers have answered the
call to participate in the $450,000 matching challenge.
As a reminder, a group of anonymous brothers has
generously invested in the project by agreeing to match
every new gift, pledge, or increases to previous pledges
made through April 30, 2015. To help reach our goal,
our challengers have agreed to extend the challenge
through the end of 2015. If our alumni brothers
contribute a total of $450,000 in new gifts and pledges,
these brothers will match that entire amount, providing
a total of $900,000 in additional funding.

Are We Missing You in Our Chapter House Project?

If you have not made a pledge or gift, please do so now!
Join more than 120 of your loyal fraternity brothers in
this effort. We hope you will ask yourself how you can
be a part of this challenge and support your Fraternity in
a meaningful way.

Total Commitments

Since the match started, we have received $84,442

in new gifts and pledges toward the challenge, which
equals $168,884 total when matched by our challenge
donors. This is a good start, but we need the support of
many more alumni to take full advantage of this unique
opportunity. To date, 125 alumni have participated in
the campaign, bringing our total raised to $1,924,690,
which is 69% of our $2.8 million goal in just a little
more than two years. One donor recently commented
that he may not have made a contribution, but once he

it more manageable to give. A monthly payment of $42
becomes a total gift of $2,500 over five years, which
turns into $5,000 for the campaign through our matching
gift challenge. Please use the enclosed pledge form to
make your gift today.

All donors who contribute $2,500 or more will be

recognized on a plaque in our renovated Chapter House.
However, any size gift is needed and appreciated.

ADZ Memories Inspire Mike Svoboda 71

to Pay It Forward

s Mike Svoboda 71 reflects on his undergraduate experience, the first thing

that comes to his mind isnt classes or the university. Alpha-Delta Zeta is the
foundation of his fondest college memories.
When he had an opportunity to secure the Lambda Chi experience for future members
through the Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future campaign, Mike didnt hesitate.
We all benefited in so many ways as brothers of LCA that to me supporting the campaign was a no-brainer. Other
fraternities have or are already building new facilities, Mike said. I worked with a young man this summer who
is a PKT at Rolla. His brothers have already raised over $3 million in one summer for a totally new house, not just
a makeover. We have to compete to stay viable.

Mike spent his freshman year living off campus
and lacked a sense of belonging. After a few high
school friends encouraged him to pledge Lambda

Recruitment Recommendations

ithout the help from our alumni brothers, our previous recruitment success would
not have been possible. With so many brothers who have a variety of skills and
specialties, we have been fortunate to receive many forms of aid to our recruitment efforts.
We are sincerely grateful to be a part of such a fantastic brotherhood. If you are interested
in becoming more involved or know a potential new member, please contact High Delta
Matthew Dorsey 17 at (636) 866-7335 or madnq5@mst.edu.

in Tennessee and Virginia. He then moved back
to St. Louis with Reynolds Aluminum. After
six years with two corporations, he went into
the family printing business and retired after 35
years. In retirement, he enjoys hunting, fishing,
golf, construction, and spending time with his

Mike and his wife, Marilyn, reside in Fenton,

Recruitment

he brothers of Alpha-Delta Zeta of Lambda

Chi Alpha are keeping busy as ever at the
Chapter House. The spring semester always
challenges us with recruitment, and the brothers
have already shown outstanding effort in logging
the most volunteer hours for Greek Calling,
which has secured an exclusive position for the
first P.R.O. day booth. Additionally, High Delta
Matt Dorsey 17 constructed an early mailing to
accepted male students with an ACT score of 29
or higher to promote our scholarship. This mailer
will help us find the quality men we seek for our
brotherhood. Recruitment is a long process, and
we could not do it without the help from our
alumni brothers who are always ready to step up
and help fund dinners, print letters, and even call
the parents of many potential new members.

Academic Achievements

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity is extremely

focused on not only our personal grades, but also
on grades for the entire Chapter. For some time,
our brotherhood has sought to receive a GPA
higher than 3.0, and in spring and fall of 2014,
our Chapter has done just that, receiving a 3.079
and 3.141, respectively. Additionally, seven
brothers received 4.0 GPAs last semester. With
so much success, High Sigma Andrew Willard
15 implemented a case-by-case determination
of study requirements and incentives to continue
our triumphs while also creating a platform for
brothers still in need of academic assistance.

Goals for 2015

After meeting for our semester retreat, the officers

of the High Zeta are extremely focused on further
improving the state of our Chapter. Of course, the
majority of our focus in the spring semester lies
with recruitment, but High Theta Rob Carmody
