INTRODUCTION
Castrol MXD 150 Series oils have been specifically
developed to meet the demanding requirements of
high performance medium speed engines, including
Caterpillar's 3600 Series engines. In addition, the
problems associated with the variable quality of
marine distillate fuels are matched by the levels of
basicity and detergency/dispersancy built into the
MXD 150 Series oils.

In particular, the increasing cylinder peak

pressures and the corresponding temperatures
encountered in the latest generation engines,
which require oils with high temperature oxidation
stability, are catered for by Castrol MXD 150
Series oils.

Castrol MXD 150 Series oils offer high levels of
corrosion protection, good oxidation stability and
excellent load carrying/antiwear capabilities.

In addition, the oils meet the API-CF Specification

and fully comply with the requirements
of Caterpillars Micro Oxidation Test - MOT.

MANUFACTURERS APPROVALS
Castrol MXD 153 and MXD 154 are approved by
manufacturers of high and medium speed trunk
piston engines.
