Plant Maintenance

12.1 PM-EQM
12.1.1 PM-EQM-FL

Technical Objects
Functional Locations

12.1.1.1 Multi-level reference functional location list (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200), this function lists all the objects
that belong to the reference functional locations. These objects include classes, characteristics,
documents, and reference measuring points. From this list, you can display and change reference
functional locations and display reference measuring points.
Effects on Customizing
You make the settings for the field selection for this list in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and
Customer Service in the following IMG activities:
o

Define Field Selection for Reference Measuring Points and -Counters

Define Field Selection for Fields of the Reference Functional Location

Define Field Selection for Class Data Fields

Define Field Selection for Characteristic Data Fields

Define Field Selection for Document Management Fields

12.1.1.2 Reference Measuring Points (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200) you can use reference functional
locations as a basis for creating functional location structures. You can use the definition of the reference
measuring points in reference functional locations to copy data to the measuring points of the functional
locations and automatically create measuring points.
Effects on Customizing
Reference measuring points need an internal number range. This is between 900000000001 and
909999999999 and is created automatically when the reference measuring point is created.

Configuration Control

12.1.3.1 Configuration Control (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200), you can use the configuration
control workbench.
This allows you to perform configuration checks for objects with very complex product structures. The
aim is to provide all information for valid parts. In addition, you can execute a general validation of the
product structure to ensure that the technical object has a valid configuration when it is released for use.
Effects on Customizing
You can make the necessary setting under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under
Configuration Control.

12.2 PM-WOC

Maintenance Processing

12.2.1 PM-WOC-MO

Maintenance Orders

12.2.1.1 Combined Reporting Using Orders and Operations (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200), you can use this report to select
orders by operation data, or to select orders and their corresponding operations by objects from the object
list. You can use the list as a planning overview for future tasks, and also as an overview of the tasks
performed. From this list you can also trigger a series of order processing functions.

12.3 PM-WCM

Work Clearance Management

12.3.1 New Developments in Work Clearance Management (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200) the following new features are
available in Work Clearance Management:
Lock number for a switching operation

______________________________________________________________
SAP AG

SAP System
______________________________________________________________

In the Operational WCD, you can assign a lock number to each switching operation. This number can be
printed out with the tags and test tags an with the operational lists. In the list editing, this number can be
selected. You can change this number as long as you have not confirmed the lockout/tagout.
Checking the identity of the user
For activities with authorization checks (for example, granting an approval), you can connect to external
systems (such as a card reader). After the user has swiped his or her card through the card reader and
entered the PIN, the system runs the authorization check.
Automatic Connection of Work Clearance Documents
The completion of the work is confirmed in a WCM-relevant order. The system checks whether the
corresponding WCM object can be completed and completes it automatically.
This function is enhanced for the completion of the individual applications for the enhanced model.
User-specific settings
You can define different settings for working with WCM objects. For example, you can define whether
confirmation prompts appear for particular activities.
Effects on Customizing
Make the necessary settings in Customizing for Work Clearance Management under Maintain
Application Profile.

(PM-WCM).

12.4 PM-PRO

Maintenance Projects

12.4.1 Revision Planning (New)

Use
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise PLM Extension 2.00 (EA_APPL 200) you can avail of enhanced functions
in revision planning:
o

With the Maintenance Event Builder (MEB) you have a simple way to plan maintenance revisions
in the form of individual work packages. You can check maintenance/service notifications and
assign revisions to them, create maintenance and service orders from the task lists in the
notifications and assign the tasks. You can display outstanding work requirements, due dates of
tasks, maintenance and service orders, and other information relevant for the maintenance planning.
In addition, you can use the MEB to show the resources situation.

Up to now, maintenance/service orders had to be manually assigned to network operations and WBS
elements. With the PM/PS integration, this assignment can now be performed automatically by the
system via the comparison of certain field values.
