MEDIA / PUBLIC RELEASE Date: April 10, 2015 Officer Colendula Green Public Information Officer Tel #: 601-960-0948 cgreen@city.jackson.ms.us On Thursday, April 9, 2015, Precinct 3 officers responded to the 300 block of Forest Ave. regarding and armed robbery of an individual and subjects impersonating law enforcement officers. Officers made contact with a victim whom was approached by a white in color Chevy Tahoe with blue lights activated in the front dashboard. The driver of the Chevy Tahoe, dressed in law enforcement apparel and a bulletproof vest, approached the victim, asked him for drivers license and insurance. The suspect then snatched the victims wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash. There was a second subject in the passenger side of the vehicle whom pointed a rifle at the victim during this incident. They both got back in the vehicle and fled the scene to an undisclosed location. On Friday, April 10, 2015, the white Chevy Tahoe believed to have been used in this incident was located and recovered in the 500 block of Daniel Cir. Robbery/Homicide Detectives developed suspect information subsequent to the investigation. One of the suspects has been identified as Ferenzo Burton. He is currently wanted for one count of Armed Robbery of an Individual. The investigation is still ongoing. More arrests and/or charges are possible.
