Washington D.C. trip

April 30th

A group of students had the opportunity to visit Washington,

D.C. over spring break with teacher coordinator Mrs. Buchanan and several parent volunteers. Highlights of their visit included visiting the White House, the Smithsonian and Holocaust museums. The above photo was taken outside of the Supreme Court. It was a wonderful experience for all students
and volunteers. A special thank you to Mrs. Buchanan and
chaperones.

GUIDANCE NEWS
7th & 8th Grade Guidance News
The Annual Fostoria Jr/Sr High School 7th and 8th grade Awards Night will be held on Thursday, May 7th at
6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Those students receiving awards will be informed by the guidance department. We
look forward to this great end of the year event for our Junior High students.

Student Participation
English 9 Honors students participated in the Library of Congress' "Letters About Literature"
contest last fall. Students across
the country submitted letters
sharing how books, poems, or
essays affected them personally.
Of the 1,874 Ohio students who
submitted letters, 164 made it
through the initial review process for further consideration.
Five of Fostoria's own made that
cut. Caleb Brough, Antonio
Costello, DJ Costilla, Presley
Medina, and Kyla Moore are in
the mix for the final round of

judging. State winners will be

recognized at an awards ceremony on May 2 at the Cleveland
Public Library, so we'll know by
then if any of our students place
as semi-finalists.
