Hamse Warfa. Born in Somalia, Hamse and his


family left the refugee camps where they had been
living and immigrated to the United States in 1994.
Unable to speak English, his initial years were
difficult. But today he is a program officer for the
Eden Prairie-based Margaret A. Cargill (MAC)
Philanthropies, a suburban Twin Cities resident,
and author of the recently published book,
America Here I Come.

Mohamed Duale. A published author, Mohamed


has studied at Mananga Agricultural Management
Institute in Swaziland, at Somali National
University in Mogadishu, and at the University of
Minnesota in the Twin Cities. He is currently a
community liaison with the City of Eden Prairies
Community Development Department and resides
in the Twin Cities suburbs.
