Grubbs Notes for April 13-17, 2015

Hello Families!

We started building our Solar Ovens before break. We are in need of the
following items for our solar ovens. Please send in the following items so that we have
enough for all of the students to participate.

Glue sticks
PENCILS
Masking tape and scotch tape ( I have dispenser for the scotch tape so we need
just the replacement tape rolls-Dollar stores carry these)
Duct tape
Shoeboxes or other cardboard boxes (one for each student-please send in
extras)
Aluminum foil ( we need lots)
Marshmellows
Graham crackers
Hersey chocolate bars

Tuesday April 14 - Unit 6 Math test retake! Please sign your childs math
test that came home April 13th and return it so they can retake the test!
Wednesday April 15th-Cooking in our solar oven
Thursday April 16th-Reading, Spelling and Vocabulary tests since we have
our field trip on Friday.
Friday April 17th-Field Trip to 826 Michigan-if you have not sent in the
permission slip or $5.00 please send it in ASAP! By Wednesday I need to
know who needs a sack lunch from school.

Science/Social Studies: We will be doing our STEM unit on


making a solar oven.
Writing: We will be working on our persuasive letter
Reading: We are reading Me and Uncle Romie, small group (look
for books to come home to read), fluency, analyzing texts, and

****SURPRISE PARTY FOR MR> LEINDECKER!! Send in gifts and supplies by Thursday. I am still accepting donations for the gift card!****
Please make sure that your child is at school every day. I understand when your child is sick and not
feeling well. They miss so much when they are not here. If they are absent, please send in a note so that
they can be excused.
March is Reading month and we are continuing to build our rainbow outside of our room. The
students are very excited about this! We would like to see our rows colors
