Objective
I am a Grand Valley State University student pursuing my dream of teaching in an
elementary school. I am looking for a teacher assisting position where I can use my
education and my passion for teaching to develop a classroom community of
learners.

Skills & Experiences

-Employed new educational strategies and techniques to improve the development
of language and cognition.
-Tutored 3rd graders in reading at Hope Academy of West Michigan.
-Planned and conducted activities that are appropriate for children ages three to
ten.
-Serving as a mentor for students when academic or personal difficulties arose.
-Diligently following procedure while managing time efficiently.

Work Experience
State Farm 7653 Riverview dr. Jenison, MI 49428. 2014-present
I write tow bills and mail them, examine insurance, send in emergency road side
claims, scan in necessary documentation and put those in their correct positions
into the computer.
Kids Connection 202 Cummings Ave. Walker, MI $9435. 2009-present
Child Care Provider: Managed a range of children ages three to thirteen. Instructing
them in a variety of activities and encouraging healthy development while
implementing new teaching strategies.

Crew Trainer: Trained new employees with proper procedure to correctly make
sandwiches. I was also able to prep and portion food, take orders, ring them up, and
collect money on the registers.

Sales Representative: I interacted with customers telling them about promotions
and helping them find specific product. I also cleaned, organized, and restocked
product on the sales floor and in the back; as well as participating in new floor sets
every 2-3 weeks.

Crew Trainer: Trained new crew members in every position, focusing most on the
quality of our food while making sure the customer was satisfied.

Kenowa Hills High School, Grand Rapids, MI. Earned High School Diploma
Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Rapids, MI. Fulfilled the MACRAO
(Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) Agreement
before transferring to a university
Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI. Currently pursuing an Elementary
Education degree with an English emphasis.

Community Involvement
Often volunteer in elementary classrooms when a teacher many need a little help, I
have been to Kenowa Hills, Grandville, Grand Rapids Public and Northview school
districts. I am currently tutoring two third graders twice a week working on their
literacy.
I have been a member of the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO) since
2010
