Procedure:
1.)Preparethedissolvedoxygenprobeforusefollowinginstructionsfromyourteacher.Place
theprobeinabeakerfilledwithabout100mLofdistilledwater.
2.)Connectthedissolvedoxygenprobetotheinterfaceandopenthedatacollectionprogram.
Allowtheprobetostayinthewaterfor5minutesastheprobewarmsup.
3.)CollectDOdata
a.Placethetipoftheprobeintothewatersamplebeingtested.Submergetheprobetiptoa
depthof46cm.
b.Startdatacollection.Gentlystirtheprobeinthewatersample.Note:Itisimportantto
keepstirringuntilyouhavefinishedcollectingdata
c.Continuestirringanddatacollectionuntilthereadingshavebeenrelativelystable(stable
tothenearest0.2mg/L)forabout30seconds,thenstopdatacollection.
d.Selectthestableregionofyourgraph,thendisplayStatisticsforthatregion.Noteand
recordthemeanvalueforthatregionastheDOofthewatersample.
4.)Wraponebottlewiththefoil.
5.)Placedthemunderthelightfor23hours.ThencollectDOdataagain.
