NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN THE WORLD

There are 439 nuclear power reactors operating in 31 countries

Around 13% of the world's electricity is

produced from nuclear energy, more than
from all sources worldwide in 1960.
Today, reactors derived from designs
originally developed for propelling
submarines and large naval ships generate
about 85% of the world's nuclear electricity

Nuclear Power Plants in India

India has 20 nuclear reactors in operation
in six nuclear power plants, generating
4,780 MW
India drew up "an ambitious plan to reach a
nuclear power capacity of 63,000 MW in
2032"
