Procedures
1) Asktheclasswhattheythinkahomophoneis.
2) OnEboard,showcorrectdefinitionofahomophonealongwithexamplesofcommon
homophones(5minutesforthefirsttwosteps)
3) OntheEboard,haveaslidewherestudentsdragthecorrecthomophonefromabank
ofwordsontheleftsideofthescreentotherightsideofthescreenwhichhasanother
versionofthehomophone.Alsohavethestudentstryandexplainthedefinitionof
eachhomophonetheypairedup.(1015minutes)
4) Afterthepreviousstepiscompleted,bringupthenextslideontheEboard.These
nextcoupleslideshavesentencesthathavehomophonesinthem.Studentswillbe
calleduptocirclethecorrecthomophone(eachversionwillbelisted)andgivea
reasonwhythatisthecorrectversionofit.(510minutes)
5) Thenextslidewillhavesentenceswithblanks.Studentswilldragthecorrect
homophonefromthewordbanktocompletethesentence.(510minutes)
6) Next,studentswillbegivenasheetofpaperandaskedtowritedownthree
sentences(thatdifferfromtheonesthatweregiven)thatcontainthecorrectuseofthe
homophoneaswellasotherproperEnglishLanguageskillslearnedsofar.(1015
