Deer Valley offers internships in many

Restaurants

TRAINING
Training is specific to the department of your choice
Training is very thorough
Two whole weeks are dedicated to training and exposure to the position
About 2,000 seasonal employees are trained every year

BLACK DIAMOND LODGE

I chose to do my internship in the lodging department, more specifically at

the Black Diamond Lodge

This is a ski in and out property

Consists of about 20 units, all of which are privately owned
Out of the 20 units, only 10 are available to rent

FRONT DESK CLERK

This is a cross trained position which requires the following:
Front desk procedures
Concierge services
Food prep and serving
Selling Ski passes
Bell services
Shuttle driving
Due its cross training nature, I believe that this position makes a great choice for
an internship

BELLS AND WHISTLES

Free skiing for employee and their family
Free ski passes for friends
Free ski passes to other ski resorts
Free yoga classes
End of season bonus
And more

CONCLUSION
Overall Deer Valley Resort internship was very valuable experience .
I would highly recommend this internship for future students
The Only downside of this internship is its seasonality
