CARLOS YURY HORTUA CALDERON - 20122005033 Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas April 05, 2015 ENGLISH II - GROUP 55 ‘TASK NO. 6: FIELD TRIP- BOTERO MUSEUM The work chosen is entitled: “El Hombre a Caballo” by Fernando Botero, which shows then: 1, Why did I choose a work? I chose this work “El Hombre a Caballo by Fernando Botero” because; in addition to the peculiarity that has the artist in his compositions, expresses our identity, which makes us unique from the rest of the world: how is a day for a peasant. In the background of this work is embodied an unrecognizable image of the Colombia's rural countryside, clearly shows the tilled soil with attractive hills, without going beyond, a coffee or Antioquia landscape. Personally, this makes us remember where we came from and that we should be proud of it. 2, What does work incite me to do in the future, for the improvement of the society? During the last 50 years, we have witnessed directly or indirectly from the violence and armed conflict between different factions, causing bitter and painful, memories, and now we're still seeing the consequences ; but not everything that has been our story in recent years are bad, there are little things that makes us very motivation to get ahead. With the election of this work, encourages that, despite the difficulties we have lived, we must show the human part, gentle and humble we characterized — at least with many of our peasant descendants — and so find finally the peace so cherished. It might also make us think that ultimately we're all equal. 3. BIBLIOGRAPHY [1] Personal words
