Service Learning
Service Learning is classroom instructions combined with community service.
Whats the intention of service learning? The purpose of service learning is to
develop students learning abilities, character, and responsibility. Service Learning is
another way of making a difference in the world. Service learning helps students to
apprehend the meaning and purpose. Last, it assist students with their social and
academic capacities.
Service Learning is engagement within the community. In order for a student
to start service learning, they must have a goal. First, they must prepare; second,
go for the task; and last, reflect. Preparing will have them expeditious. Going for it
teaches students learning strategies. Learning strategies enriches students
learning experience and strengthen the community. Other learning outcomes are
the ability to apply what they learned to reality, analysis, problem solving, critical
thinking, and the ability to understand complexity.
In addition, Service learning demonstrates commitment that one shows to
his/her community. It motivates students to become active in extra-curriculum
activities. Also, service learning discipline students in school and at home . It helps
them become more responsible and more efficient in the task they are given.
Moreover, service learning develops students in career development. Students will

have a better connection with community members and professor. This will lead to
better leadership and academic skills.
