This independent study aims to develop a greater understanding of the diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds of college students by researching literature on spiritual development and religious diversity in college students. The student will work with the Director of Campus Ministry and Spiritual Life to develop a final project, take their course on World Religions, and meet weekly to integrate the material. A grade will be given upon completion of the final project and course assignments.

Spiritually Diverse Backgrounds The purpose of this independent study will be to develop a greater understanding of the diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds which students may bring to a college counseling center. This process will be completed by developing research around literature pertaining to the spiritual development of todays college student as well as an exploration of the diversity of religious backgrounds students may have. By working with the Director of Campus Ministry and Spiritual Life an appropriate final project will be developed. In addition the student will attend the Director of Campus Ministry and Spiritual Lifes course on World Religions which meets three times a week; an additional hour per week will be spent meeting with regards to the integration of the material learned. A grade will be submitted upon the completion of the final project and individual course assignments.
