Frisbee Flyer

A soft frisbee that can be used for indoor play.

by Bonnie Jacobs
Finished size is approx: 9 diameter
H hook
Worsted weight yarn (small ball for each
colour to be used).
This is a great use for scraps
Work in a spiral, You may want to use a stitch
marker to keep track of the end of each round &
move it up as you go.
This is worked by carrying the unused yarn over the top loops
of stitches in previous rounds while working stitches over the carried threads, encasing the unused
threads inside the stitches.
Colours can be changed at anytime by swapping out the yarn being used for one that has been carried.
You will need to use 5 stands of yarn (1 working, 4 carried) to create the thickness to make the frisbee
stiff enough to be tossed.
sc = single crochet
Using 1 strand of yarn: chain 3, join with a slip stitch to form a ring
Round 1: 12 sc into the ring while carrying the tail
Round 2: Start to carry other strands of yarn, with original strand
work 2 sc into each sc, around
Round 3: 1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 4: 1 sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 5: 1 sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 6: 1 sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 7: 1 sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 8: 1 sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 9: 1 sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 10: 1 sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 11: 1 sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around
Round 12: 1 sc in each sc around
Round 13: 1 sc in next 7 sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc (decrease), repeat
around
Round 14: 1 sc in next 5 sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc (decrease), repeat
around. Cut off 4 strands being carried, Use final strand
to work 1 more sc
