INTRODUGTION ‘AlRashid Abetong. A Seudi-Swedish Company was «established in 1977 and has grown rapidly to become one ofthe largest and most successful precast concrete ‘companies in the Kingdom. The company has a full range of the Precast Concrete Product like: Hollawcore ‘Slabs, Double Tee (DT) Slabs. ARA Form Slabs and all ‘ypes of precast concrete structures in addition to the tumque Swede Beam System, ‘AlRashid Abetong Co. has lour large lactories located In the Second Industrial City in Riyadh. We serve our customers through our main office in Riyadh and our two branch offices situated in Jeddah and Alka. ur preduction output from the factories in Riyadh exceeds 20,000 Cubic Meter of precast concrete elements every month. AlRashid Abetong is composed of dedicated teams of professionals fully avalifed and Inowledgeable in their fields of expertise where they have gained 2 reputation for providing state-of-th products and series. The company i currently employing ‘more than 2.500 employees of varous professiors. ALRASHID-ABETONG Aan qoweyl_ ail GENERAL The Double Tee (DT} slab is two symmetrically placed heams interacting with a slab forming one section with a "double tee” shape. It fs made in recast, prestressed concrete and it's pany used! for Moor or roof deck systems, Double Tee slabs are made with G50 concrete and U2" strands, ASTM AdI6 as standard. Each Double Tee slab 1s normally 2400mm wide (2376)mm + 4mm joint). The span can vary from 10m to 25m depending on required load capacity Flange thickness is 5Omm as standard and the slab ts normally combined with a screed for levelling and (in most cases) structural purpose The self weight for the slab is efatvely lw compared to the load bearing capacity Holes and openings can be arranged as per instruct later in this folder. Structurally, Double Tee stabs provide the general éffeciency of prestressed members concerning load Capacity, span range and deflection contro. Double Tee slabs (sometimes in interaction with structural screed) are suitable for floors with high and/or concentrated loads, DESIGN ‘A floor consisting of Double Tee slabs can be designed to provide a rigid and homogenous part of the strueture (diaphragm). This diaphragm can be used as past of the stabilizing system and is achieved by welding the slabs together (see Instructions about shear forces in joints). Structural sereed can also be Used for stability purpose. This design is done by the party who Is responsible for the general stability of the building, Fach single element is designed to cary loads according to specifications and standards. This is normally done by AlRashid-Abetong design department, If there fs anced for structural screed to act together with the slab for vertical load bearing this will be advised by ‘AlRashid-Abetong designer. Topping for levelling purpose is needed to level the slab considering camber and tolerances, This folder contains some general design information a load capacities, camber, weight, et, If here is a need for more detailed or sophisticated analysis, AIRashi: Abetong design department will always be at your RANGE OF SPAN “The Table shows the normal range of span for each size of Double Tee Slabs. The shorter span can cary heawy loads while the longer range fs applicable for lighter loads (like root loads ete) “The naming "roof type" / “oor type” is enly an indication of the most frequent use for each type of slab, DI 240-1250 al (oot Tipe) cy a DT 240-1260 (Root Type) Dr 240.1270 (Rook Type) pr 240-1780 (Root Type) br 240-190 (Koo! For slabs with height (H) 700 - 1000 mm the support length (L) should be minimum 200 mm, Neoprene shims for support should be provided 2s advised by AlRashid-Abetong design. The fabrication tolerance for length of Double Tee Slab is +/~ 25 mm (inch). For this reason it is recommended {o have a minimum gap of 30 mm betveen end of slab and the web of beam (sce belo). Hf the beam is cast on site it is necessary to consider the tolerance also for the straightness af beam when deciding about gap and ledge width In order to minimize construction height. itis possible to make dapped ends for Double Tee legs (see below to the right). The height for the bearing part of leg however, should never be less than half of total height. Wis recommended to have top of beam level at least 25 mm below top of slab. 0 9 He He pt Neoprene Shims _ SIF 2 IND IND, CY “cas 3 Main EASTERN Gare | | staTiOn z | a ruRiruRe 9 FACTORY q gu — - WATER TANK i | =e FE a ‘Aumuoawes racronr o| > ‘mie MARKET er AL-SHARG FACTORY eSTAURAN 6 FOR PLASTIC savorcename | |spaH srepco| | 8 3 z : 2 i s rn ee |)|# Seating z ‘SEWAGE CHANNEL AAR _ ele diiGnbe 'ALKHARY OLD ROAD Swarr SOS TG EXIT ARAMCO : meas ——— SECOND INDUSTRIAL CITY 3 ‘TO: RIYADH nut oa nN psSITO gst ali UIT Ah MTT a Est tho eb 1.0.x O58.
