LESSON OUTCOME:
Use place value to partition numbers of up to four digits, eg 3265 as 3 groups of one
thousand, 2 groups of one hundred, 6 groups of ten and 5 ones.
Record numbers of up to four digits using place value, eg 5429 = 5000 + 400 + 20 + 9

Introduction (Set):
Have the students sitting on the floor.
Have displayed a couple of examples
on the Smartboard.
Remind the students that whole
numbers are made up groups of
numbers-hundreds, tens and ones.
Main Content:
Have students go to their desks.
Hand out to the students the bingo
sheets.
Hand out the counters for the
students to use.
Have displayed on the Smartboard a
grid with 1 to 100 displayed.
Using the Smartboard pen mark off
the different numbers as they are
called out.
Award the students who get a whole
line and then the whole card-a DOJO.
When the game is finished. Hand out
worksheets for the students to
complete.
