I have developed
therapeutic relationships
with the clients I have
worked with. Weekly I am
reviewing nursing notes,
consulting with peers, and
staff members in selecting
appropriate tool, and
assessment method.

I am aware of my strength
and weaknesses as a
nursing student so within
group settings and play on
my strengths and contribute
in that way to further the
knowledge of the group. I
am always initiating
collaboration with my peers
while performing care. I
want to gain the knowledge
they have and share what I
have gained as well. This
betters me as a nursing
student in the clinical
setting because if I have not
previously performed a
skill, I can gain some

Weekly I reflect on my
practice, I do so
independently, and with a
peer that I work closely
with. This is a great way to
outline my areas of
strength, and areas that I
need to work on. For
example when I gave my
first subcutaneous injection
on this unit I was extremely
nervous, and didnt perform
as well as I could have.
After some self reflection,
and peer reflection I

Shona engages in
ongoing reflective
practice to identify
strengths, areas for
improvement; and,
integrate feedback into
practice. She seeks out
learning opportunities
and feedback that foster
professional
development; and
integrate these into
practice. She uses
nursing research to
foster professional
reviewed ways to do
subcutaneous injections,
and received tips from staff
nurses, and when I did it a
week later I was much
better,
development.

I am beginning to become
more proficient in putting
the textbook theory into
clinical practice, and
linking the two together to
better my learning
experience. I am beginning
to explain the reasons
behind the health
assessment and
interviewing strategies and
techniques and the
foundational nursing skills
being used.
